About Me

Hello, I’m Anandarup (Anand), an ex-Ph.D. scholar [Thesis submitted] of IIT Kharagpur, researching/working/conceptualizing/playing with the design and deployment of resource-constrained networks, typically focused on data, control, and processing offloading in IoT and UAV Networks. As a result of my concurrent academic and entrepreneurial activities, I feel lucky enough to have been exposed to some of the relevant real-life and crucial challenges faced during on-site deployment of IoT solutions, especially under the conditions of mobility and in various industrial settings. I am also a co-Founder and Director for Sensordrops Networks Pvt. Ltd., which is my entrepreneurial venture with my Ph.D. supervisor and another one of my colleagues. What I do

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles

Sensing- predicting- recreating UAV controls, camera interfaces, networked streaming of UAV video and control feed, networked control of UAVs, autonomous aerial demarcation of ground plots, gesture-based controls.

UAV Networks

Network of UAVs, UAV-based ground crowd tracking, UAV-based mob tracking, data offload in UAV swarms, decentralized decision-making in networked UAVs, reinforcement-learning based processing offload in UAV swarms, sustainable UAV swarms.

Underwater Networks

Development of low-cost underwater transducers, physical layer for underwater communication, MAC layer for underwater communication, underwater multimedia streaming, underwater relay network, underwater surveillance.

Development of sensors for industrial fault monitoring in power stations, industrial mesh networks, Blockchains for Industrial IoT, Industrial IoT-based analytics and feedback.

Drones: reminiscences

This video is a collection of me and my team's efforts towards automating UAVs and eventually forming collaborative networks among them. Incidentally, this is also the topic of my Ph. D research. We also undertook quite a lot of interesting applications during these learning phases.

How to tame your Drone

This video is a reminder of the good ol' days when we were learning to handle drones and trying to automate them, without any testing infrastructure. A small reminder of our drone struggles and the stop-gap solutions applied. Surprisingly, we could fly these drones at any time of the day, for indefinite periods, all the while messing with its automation and flight behavior.
